Frantic February : The lowdown on my Love month

For one thing there was not Mr. February this time around. Thank God.
I missed Trina's bday and didn't get her a gift. Cue : I am such an evil friend.
I didn't go with her to Subic because of travel conflicts. Cue: I am such a shitty friend.
I found out that Jay went there with a friend and I didn't know beforehand since I have been off the grid on fb and could have gotten Trina some company had I only been in the loop. Cue: I really need to get a damn internet provider. I hope Wi tribe already works in my area.
I went to Elbi and watched Articulo Mortis. Which I loved so much.
I did heart to heart with my also getting fatter apprentice Dada.
I missed seeing Pchan when we were there.
I met my Anak Geb's Marvie. She is nice and pretty! And gets my jokes so me likey.
Geb didn't get to treat me out but there would be time enough for that in the future.
I slept in Dada's bed. Love that foam, need to find out where to get one! He slept on the wooden floor. Poor honey. ^.^ Love him.
Ate kalihim in the corner bakery near his house.
Had one red horse in my whole febfair stay. Wow self control is that you?
Ate yummy burger at Jungle java that hottie kuya served. Can I eat him too? Nah. Behave.
I had a freenimie that I can not stomach after realizing that he is how he is and I shouldn't take his attitude personally.
I made another frenimie that I don't know how to deal with but I would probably just be civil to. Note to self: Stop being to fracking friendly. Limited friend slots. Reserve for non-overly dramatic people but people who can teach you to get ahead without calling people ugly and cursing less.
I lost my Eikichi and it still had unuploaded pictures of my Elbi trip and other stuff. Cue: Thank God I no longer have lewd pics there. Whew.
I will go jogging today if the jogging group in our wave is going.
Note to self: Still haven't written Yobo #4 YOU BROKE PROMISE TO NORBY!
Will make up to him.
Last week of process training. Was able to pass first three skill checks. One more to go. Then transition from 12am to 9am.
Must save for Dec30 to Jan2 trip for 10th anniversary with friends.
Must loose weight for July wedding of Maribel. Note: ask her to sms you on new sim card.
Bought a new sim card.
Won't be buying a new cp soon. If possible will buy in March. Galaxy Y. Don't judge me. I like it.
I want to buy a Galaxy Tab soon but I need to save up for it.
Will go home next weekend to borrow old mom's cp.
Went to SNR last 25th
Because Pen's supplementary member
Ate calzones (now I know why Marshal loves them)
and a huge pizza slice
Helped Kat buy muffins for her cousin *that rhymes*
Bought Musketeers and toothbrushes (3 in a pack)
Whirled around SNR with kat fritz pen & jaime
Tried to talk to them out of purchasing the entire store.
Saw a trolly bag I want to purchase Backpack that becomes a bag
Went online and found out about the EB. Till 3 only!!!
Went to Trinoma went from the Starbucks garden to the carshow in the bottom. Should have started in the freaking bottom. Just when I was about to leave I saw Lou!!!
Talked to her and Ivy and Foo.
Got Cashmere Mafia and Galactica Razor.
Saw new mancrush in Cashmere Mafia, brain surgeon Jason.
Bought groceries to make sure I eat even after money is low or runs out.
Decided not to buy a cp but borrow the phone my mom can spare.
Bought jogging pants which I thought was 400 worth but was on sale so it was only less than a hundred. Should have gotten two!!! Anyway I can always go back tomorrow for another one!!!
Decided that my century tuna diet would work as my afternoon meal instead of all those preservatives filled food I have been eating from the cafeteria. Or at least for breakfast. Tuna and cereal. Then I can have dinner of siomai and rice at work. Then dinner would be courtesy of Pen. Then jogging with Mike, Auda and AL whenever possible.

I hope pickpocket would stop keeping my cp on and using my sim since I do not want him or her or it using my  number to sms anyone. Damn. I want to go all hacker on said pickpocket but I am just going to leave him or her or it to the universe.

I got a pretty good story idea from the experience though. Two actually. So I think it's find. A cp for story ideas and a chance to have a new gadget in my life. Seems serendipitous somehow. Though I would regret not uploading those pictures argh.

Hate thieves. The only thieves that I would allow to live in the world are the cuties who take my breath away. ^.^

See you in March!!!

UPLB FEB FAIR BUG 2012

*singing* Take me back to Elbi...

I always loved being a groupie and getting my picture taken with grassroots bands and liking them even before others do. ^.~ I believe I was a hippy groupie in one of my past lives. ^.~

I would never get tired of going back to Elbi and next year, when I have more time to go on VL, I would plot my vacation to fall on Febfair. To hell with traveling to new places and such. But the past is a destination too. And once time travel is possible, I know the dates and years I would revisit would take me back to Elbi every time. I want to take pictures of that time, never to interfere. ^.^ I won't go Ericka Strange and undo my past mistakes.

Because if not for wild days in college and heartbreaks, I wouldn't be who I am now and I would be able to enjoy my self-proclaimed training to be an adult. It's not true you can't have the best of both worlds, still you have to remember that two people can exist in both the past in their heart and walk forward to the future to make the present part of the past.

Anyway, come wind or high water, alone or otherwise, I would go back to visit and see Elbi with eyes that knows that past and ignores the present. But I would enjoy ribbing the idiots who wear heels in the mountains without a need for it like perhaps, one of those crazy Thursday Elbi Nights.

And this time, I am sure I am cured completely of my February bug, no more picking up boys in a bar and trying to fall in love with the idea of love. I am an adult now.

His First Febfair & My First Normal BF

It was a hectic Friday since we had to meet up, I had to buy a pantyhose for my dress and we had to go to Makati so that I could pack my stuff for Elbi. It didn't help that we had the deadline for our team book that day. I was super worn out. T_T, I didn't know what I would do first. And carrying Eros (my lappie) was a pain.

But he was patient enough to show me his school uniform. *I have a picture somewhere but I can't seem to find it. T_T I think it's in my officemate's camera. Tsk.* He waited for me to finish eating, didn't comment that I looked harassed. We went to my dorm so that I could take a bath and pack. He ate lunch at the cafeteria downstairs and that shot his budget. I did remind him to just buy something to drink. ^.^ I could find my comb so I went downstairs without combing my hair. He was attentive and remembered the things that I asked him to remind me. ^.^

We bough donuts before riding the bus. He also discovered the awesomeness of grape-flavored Water Plus.  I didn't get to sleep on the bus since we talked a bit, took some pictures, and listened to some music. He likes John Mayer amongst others. I felt envious that he could have so much music on his blackberry. T_T Oh well. I discovered that he was ticklish. ^.^ That was fun to learn.

It was already late when we got to UPLB. I learned that it was his first FebFair. That and he didn't tell his mom where we were! T_T That did not go down well. If I was my old bitchy self he would have never heard the end of it. But I was trying to be a nice girl and going psychobitch on him that early was not part of the program.

We went to my UPFC's booth first and I was able to meet, greet and introduce him to them. We would make it our "baggage counter" and homebase for the rest of the night. We went looking for my brother and Dada as well. My brother was easier to spot and he got along with Ico quite well. *I'm going to call him that since I really don't like Raymond as a name. ^.^ Sorry sweetie.* I was scared for a while that my brother would shock Ico but I guess he doesn't shock easily. I am sticking to the "what is in the past is in the past" during that time. I tend to scare men away with my rap sheet. And although he's had other girlfriends, I didn't want to have a repeat of the blurting at Mark episode. Lesson learned during that time: If the guy is not interested to hear it, keep it to yourself. We did talk about these things later on. I consider the 19th as the official Pandabear day since the conditions were met during that day.

We bumped into my brother and I bought them red iced teas and a couple of makis for me and Baks *my brother's nickname*. I ended up giving the donuts and maki to my orgmates since the pasta they fed me was nom-tastic. Ico even got to talk to Sir Owen. *who told me that he reads my blog- pressure much* I encountered another "You should be a lawyer" situation. I said it outloud but it's not entirely true, that I don't have ambitions. I just consider that my dreams have already been met career-wise. I found a job that gave me talking as a main job and it had a schedule that fit my lifestyle. The only problem is that I don't have HMO and I can't save because I get paid peanuts. I can write now for T.O.P. and I hope that one day I can be a published writer. *This would be for another blgo but I am thinking of going off the grid as the EIC. I can't really resign but I might since I want to focus on my writing.*

His friends from RO and RF were a typical bunch of gamers. They were teasing him that he seemed happy. That might have something to do with the fact that he was going around the fair while holding hands with a girl. His chest had to endure the "congratulatory hits". But yeah, he seemed genuinely happy.

We stayed inside so long that we missed the bar scene. I didn't get to show him Hopscotch all that much. There weren't any food left there either. T_T I knew that black cat that we saw would bring bad luck. One, I didn't get to see Kuya B, second, we had to eat at Mcdo for breakfast and three, I am keeping this one hush-hush for now.

We stayed at the common area for my brother's apartment. It proved to be comfy enough and there were a lot of firsts that we talked about while we were there. I had to adjust to sleeping with someone but oddly enough I slept well for the few hours that he let me sleep. I forgot that I am a grumpy person when I wake up when he woke me up. I guess I would need to adjust to that the same way I don't get to keep my cp silent for a long period of time or watch movies alone. There are just single habits that I would have to tuck away now that I had a boyfriend again.

Just a quick note, Ico is probably my first normal boyfriend. We all know my relationship history. I have splattered my boo-boos all over this blog already. But like the best things in my life, I think I might have be more protective of my new chapter for now.

He makes me smile. He told me that he loves me. *Tee-hee* I have already crushed my crush rush and the dust have been taken away by the Elbi breeze. So now there is only him that he needs to compete with. I am giving my heart 100 days to fall in love. If it doesn't fall for him completely, then I would have to ask him to be just my friend. I don't want to waste his time with someone who can't love him the way that he deserves.

021811 UPLB FebFair

I admit that I compared him to my exes in a lot of things. Prowess, size, potential for greatness and whatnot. Despite falling short in experience, age and a few other things that used to be important for me in my shallow versions of love, he trumps them all in one simple yet important category. Honesty. So even if God is telling me that I can't have all that I wish for in one guy, having a rare find like him in my life is good enough for me. For all the things that they made me feel, trusting a man again is a lot more refreshing and scary than I thought. This time my trust is not based on fantasies and ideals, it's based on exactly how he is around me. Although I try to mellow down and try not to be the dominating old me, I think that with proper training, Ico would be a great boyfriend. I just need to put back the ego his exes has stomped on and the confidence that is lurking in his eyes.

I don't need to break this one in. The others have done way too much of that. This normal relationship would take a lot of work. I don't know how he would be able to handle the FullMetal Nyanya GF mode. I already told him that I can't meet his family just yet since I want to be in my best self. And that I can't present him to my family since that means marriage in our family. I also told him that I need time before I can tell him that I really love him. Because I am not like the others, I don't say something just as a response. When that time comes, I want him to be able to recognize true love and not just a "mutual understanding". I firmly believe that women who talk about love when all they have is affection are even worse than whores and us sluts. At least we present our men with the truth.

Since I was sent an honest man, I need to be the same way.
I just hope he comes into his own soon enough. I want to inspire and not to train him too hard. He has potential, we just need to adjust a few things.

So my dear friends, chill. I'll tell you the whole story when the time comes. ^.^ And all the naughty bits too.

ARCHIVE : Febfair 2010 - Old Friend Good Time

Febfair 2010 - Old Friend Good Times

at Mio's

P-chan and I have a tradition of drinking together whenever Febfair. We used to do it with Jasper and Dada. But this year, Per was in Manila trying to hide from the effects of being in a fraternity and being stupid, and Dada and P-chan are not in good terms because the former is a passive person and the latter is a south bitch dieter. Ehehe. Love you, P-chan. P-chan introduced me to Per and Dada's friend Jules. He seems to be somewhere between Per and Dada. I think this would work out fine. And this time, we are not going to drag him into going to UPLB from LSPU. He needs to stay where he is. It would be more trouble if he gets into the system and ends up like the other two.

at Jules' place

We drank and hang out with Jules from Hopscotch to his place. It was a quaint place. I felt like I was back in the bukid areas in Batangas. His family was very hospitable. The dogs stayed inside the house so I went home with some tick bites but it was fun. P-chan is a bit sensitive about some things like water so we ended up going to Vlounge for an "awakening dream". Yes, my dear exes, you would have to suffer through that shit when you are with me now that I have found out how awesome it is.

Of course, we ate siomai before Hot Mamah and Helene went back to Biñan and Q.C. respectively. It was probably the only tradition that I didn't break this year. I don't care if people felt like I was clining to the past and the people who I ate with while I was there. (Mark had a queasy stomach and I always force-fed him their siomai. Some other escapades where brought for a morning meal. I don't do walk of shames. I do siomai breaks instead. )

Siomai Foodhaus LB junction

There are people that I must see when I go there. I know that it would be their last months as students and it would take us a while before we can hang out. I am usually content with hugging them since most of the time I was broke. But this year I wasn't. It was too bad they weren't around when I was spending my February pay.

walking along GROVE

Walking is the main means of transportation of Elbizens and UPians. So it isn't surprising that we end up with big calves when we graduate. It is said that if you whine when you walk long distances that means you have outgrown your ELBI self.

ayoko na me dadaan nang sasakyan!

Of course we weren't drunk when we did this. But it was definitely reminiscent of the times Reina did the space monkey on this street. (which I forgot to do and ask H to take a picture off. snap. Maybe next year.) But I made sure that I was wearing the dress Reina gave to me. (shit I just remember I still have Mae's hoodie.) I wore the pants when we watched RENT the next day. I wanted her to be there. And by wearing something she gave too me, I know she is there in...well...spirit.

It's sad because this is the last year that Kuya Bong and Herb are going to own the bar, Hopscotch. They are selling it to a friend of theirs. I think the double life is getting to Kuya Bong (the manliner-like look was shocking). He said that we would always have a discount when we go there. Even the cashier lady that we like is leaving. So I guess this is a year of endings. At least we were there together one last time. Maybe by the time Reina lands her feet in Hopscotch, it would be someone else's. Oh well. It was great while it lasted.
Now I really need to lose weight. We need to make the new owner likee us. ^^

Coincidences are not rare in Elbi. And the fun thing is that whenever I am in Elbi, I often bump into Jeroy. Kulang ang bisita ko if hindi ko sha nalilibre ng fudang kahit donut lang. Ahahah. Dati ung donut sa Vega. Ngayon naman Krispy Kreme na. Kumi-krispy Kreme. The fact na thinner than me is daunting. More motivation more fun.

Free the Febfair!!!

Madam President,

I understand that as the esteemed president of our beloved alma mater, you have so many concerns that taxes your time and your patience to their limit. I grieve with you that the prestige of the university seems to be slipping. But I take pride in my school, my dear UPLB, one of the many campuses that celebrate the University February Fair.

I have joined one single rally in my time as a student. I lost my voice translating the words of the speakers to an exchange student on that day in Mendiola. It dampened my spirits and I never joined another rally. But in every turn, in every chance, in every avenue that I can, I tell everyone that I learned a lot when I was in the university.

But not all of those lessons were learned inside the university. Almost 75% of that I learned from the many colorful and often seemingly reckless activities that I attended in UPLB. The parties and the fair where were I found out that the people who hold my hair when I am throwing up are the people whose lives I would share forever.

Not a single graduate or not-so graduate of the University forgets what they did or why they did it when they are walking in flipflops or barefooted on the field we call FREEDOM PARK.

We held hands with the person we love, some of which we married, others left us with only lessons to share to our children someday.

We found who we are amongst the grass, the trees, the merriment and the tears. We learned how to be good students of life.

We treasured all those moments. We learned that a simple act of standing up for what we believed in can change a lot. We learned that we are ripples.

Now as adults, distracted by our bills, our work, our so-called lives, we take leave of all those to come back and see, in the faces, music and laughter of the residents of our orgs, dorms and colleges, the young idealistic us that we left behind.

And after one day, of booze, laughter and nostalgia, we can go back to our lives and say. "Take me back to Elbi."

So please, do not let one greedy person, a few overzealous students and the idiots who chose to cause others harm stop this tradition of homecoming and sharing.

Yours truly,

Niña Rita Simon
Batch Representative
UPLB Batch 2002
AB Communication Arts graduate

Dear Sir,

I can honestly say that I now have more respect for Chancellor David than you. We thought he was a elitist who didn't understand what we the student body wanted. We thought that he was trying to cut us in our prime.

But under you dear sir, Icebag closed down.
The various changes and experimentation that you are putting students through is close to torture. The harder pill to swallow is that the students of my time are now teachers in your regime. And they are brusting on their seams to scream your name in a curse.

It's deplorable these rumors that are reaching us here in the real world, removed from your regime of seemingly childish ploys to place the blame on a student-run institution.

So they do not agree with what you say? So they poke fun of the rules that you recieve from the Madam? But have you no shame and no love? Have you no shame in the face that you would show to the hundreds, ney, thousands of alumni who await this Fair every year to go back and see their old alma mater? These alumni who have given anything to see the changes, the so-called positive changes that you and your predecessors have put into action.

Have you no love? Cut down the power, destroy what we put together with our hands, with the little money we worked hard to put together, all because you want to hoard the profit?

We already looked past the fact that our own council is suspended, but do you really have to cut down power to show that you can control us? What of those who have papers to write, programs to make and chapters to read? Would you not shed light on them?

You are making a new breed of activists, are you not aware of that? You are now the new champion of the Tibaks. Why? Because you are bringing the fight to the regular students. Those whose baser needs go before nationalistic thoughts and wants. They are now going to be your critics, they will now wonder why you are doing this? They would not understand your pompous reasons. They would now be soldiers against your tiny army of followers.

And when they leave they would take this experience, one of oppressed and downtrotten students to the streets, to their work and to their homes. They would no longer stand for injustice, you have made first blood.

Do not blame us if we scorn you, if we rebel against you.

There wouldn't be any rebels if there are no corrupt and arrogant tyrants.

Food for thought. The Fair was started by students from this school. Shame on you to tarnish our history.

+++

I called my brother because I was worried about him. I know that he is busy putting together the booth for his org. He is the president of his org and this is his last FEBFAIR as a student. My other brother is in UPD and he is on his last semester as well. They are both marching this April. Next year, we would all be alumni. It would be many years later before another one of us can be a student in the university. When my nine-year old sister was two she used to say that she wants to go to UP. I wonder if it would still be something that I would like for her to do.

My UPLB brother said that it's pitch black in the park. I told him to bring his rechargable lamp with him and to not bring anything valuable. I told him to be careful since he told me that it has now officially become a protest fair. There are no vendors, not light posts, no power.

I fear that if they leave their booths, they would find in en shamble the next day. But I know Elbizens, they would not let this happen. They literally started this and they would see it to the end.

Be careful, residents. Wait for us.

++

According to some recent information:

The USC was suspended because they picketed against the admin. They can't hold events. And the fair is their event.

The rumor about the financial report springs from the fact that even last year, the vendors didn't know where they should make or to whom they should give their payments. Ergo, not enough stuff to make a decent financial report.

Lastly, the fair will be allowed but there won't be any vendors. So bring your own food.

I just hope the electricity would come back and there would be music in Makiling once again.

February : For Friends and Fairs

The pseudo-sad news that my friend's mom is going to Bahrain soon and that she might be going there before next year made my Monday horoscope almost right to the letter. It said that I should get in touch with my friends because I would get some excellent news.

One of my friends who is overseas would be visiting for three weeks during one of the Ber months. That is after spending time in Europe. I could just die from envy if I wouldn't die from trying to get on a plane first. It's unfortunate that it would not be during the summer season. But it is just fortunate that I would be trying to get myself together just in time for her to come back.

My cousin in having her beach wedding on June so I really really need to lose the weight and the chismis on my legs. It was so much so that I agreed to let my mom put me in even more debt (to her not a bank) just so I would be able to look presentable at that wedding. I know my mom is not the "I want to see my daughter get wed" kind of mom but she also doesn't want me to have to make excuses for my weight when I go there.

She doesn't know the amount of self-confidence I am actually packing. Still it wouldn't hurt to be able to wear what I want on the wedding day without looking like an orca.

Nevertheless, the sudden and overwhelming motivation that I am getting is fighting with a nightshift schedule, much partying that needs to be done this February and the massive amount of stress that being a GL of a group of misfits under the dark reign at our office.

Stress makes me fat. If it made me skinny I would let them pile me with it. But it doesn't. So it sucks.

Nevertheless, after being able to get past January without writing another word for the Naomi and Gan, and being practically useless as the writer for Yo, Bo! I will try to make amends. Despite the additional hell that are new students. (I mean seriously, they really want us to resign. If I didn't have so much debt [to my mom] I would have quit already. Shite.)

I also have a side project for the teachers in the office. I am planning to make a poem or quotes then have Petiza, the other ex AM GL to distribute it on the 12th. (When I am safely in UPLB away from all the office mush that might ensue.)

So although I have no idea when I will fall in love again, February is not the month my first ex bf left me. It is the month I watch RENT the musical. ^^ The 13th can't get here any sooner.
