Rurouni Kenshin Movie in 8.25.12

With all the stuff that can be done online and all the hoax around I didn't want to believe it with my own eyes. But there is going to be a live action movie of Rurouni Kenshin this coming August! I want to be in Japan so bad...My friend Joy is there yet she told me she might go home that month. I hope she gets to watch it or download it whatever it is that she can do so that she would be able to tell me or let me find out just how awesome that movie really is. *shrieks* Kenshiiiiiiiin!

Before I was a kpop and kdrama fan I was an otaku. And that is the kind of thing you never really let go of. And I am hoping I can get to watch this movie and have a copy of it to show to my my great-great-great grand nephews and nieces.

Won Deuk Yi "Punch"

I want to watch this movie.

My student Melissa told me about it. She said that she watched it with her sister. She told me the story, typical for me to ask when I can't google the title. I kept typing Huan Do Gi. T_T

Won-Deuk Yi or  완득이 is a coming of age movie for a kid who was only good at fighting. Not that the kid is violent or something. But I guess that is why the international release title is "Punch".  He usually beats people who try to hurt or insult his father.

The part that interested me was that the story included the fact that his mom is a Filipina-who migrated to Korea. His homeroom teacher, whom he hates enough to pray for his speedy demise, tells him she wants to see Won Deuk.

It doesn't seem like this movie would have a lot to give me but I just want to see it.

Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington - FTW

The cast of Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington Roderick Paulate, Janice De Belen, Eugene Domingo, John Regala, Lauren Young, Kerbie Zamora and Martin Escudero made my day when I saw this movie.

I didn't care if I laughed too much or that other people seem to be expecting more from the movie than it was willing to offer.

It was funny. I had a great time. The quirky bits that only people who are familiar or have gay friends can get made the movie a feel good movie. Believe me I would never intentionally go into a movie that boasted zombies. I have a strict no horror movie rule. It's a long story but the bottom line is I would like to keep my zombie in my Plants vs Zombie past and not in my dreams.

I hoped that the babaylan information was placed in a separate clip or was placed before the movie and not during the credits. People had already walked out. It was cool to know (but I had known for a while now that effeminate men where considers holy men in the past - well most of them at least). You see despite the images of Lapu-Lapu swimming in our heads about that time, gays have been around since the dawn of time. We only need to watch Amaya to get an idea of how macho the men are supposed to be at that time, but the babaylans (shamans) were either old women or old men. And the most fab of all, some of the men were actually gay.

Like the clip said, they were believed to have the ability to transcend this plane to the others. They are in tuned with the duality of the universe than we ever were.

There are lines in the movie that are prickly and made fun of people who tried to bring down the third sex. There were also some over-generalizations.

The third sex despite having been clout together are still individuals. They pay taxes, love, and have a voice, albeit they can use phrases that are their own. I consider it almost like a dialect, something that other people can understand, can learn to speak but sometimes can be their way of identifying one of their own.

On Hannah and Remington

Sorry naman daw at nakakarelate ako sa character ni Hannah dito. Well, hindi kami magkasing-ganda pero spunky si Ate. And I had a gay boyfriend too. Yiz, aware ang lola mo na kafatid ang boylet so wit na magtanong kung howisthebecauseofthesomehow nagka-jacksonan, hmkay?

But the thing about my gay ex is that he gave me lessons and I learned them quite well. We are still friends, at the very least I don't hate any of my exes (in general) and I have genuine concern for them. I hope JL got to see the movie. ^.^

I imagined that Janice and John would be us in the future had we ended up together. Kebs, eh di together kumempalar, di ba?

I said before while I was in line for Eiga Sai, "Someday I'll find a boy who would be patient enough to wait in line for me for these movies."

And yesterday, he came albeit we were behind schedule and not so patiently, we hugged, kissed, ate, and waited in line.

I honestly forgot that he was driving me nuts last Friday. I guess that is the vital relationship information that I didn't learn from my past relationships since they were usually suspended in animation and removed from the reality of things.

Or maybe because I didn't want to adjust AT ALL during those time. Now I am a bit more flexible. *pun intended*

He didn't know about that tiny little Eiga Sai wish that I had. And I was glad that I didn't have to tell him about it for him to stay and watch with me. I pouted and albeit having to wait HOURS, he still agreed to stay. In turn, I fed us as much as I could. Burgers, franks, popcorn, jellybeans and chocolates from Lizzie. I am sorry that I ruined my Ne Sarang's diet. T_T, But see, no rice? *still that is a whole bunch of calories that he would have to shake off.

I am happy to see him and I realized that the heart or the stomach doesn't need to flip when you see a person you love. It could be a sense so peace.

I guess that he is my panda. We can achieve inner peace together.

I am sure we would spar more in the future. But then again, I am the Tiger Dragon lady's daughter. (My cousins call my mom that since she's super scary for them and extremely maternal) So it fits.

 We watched Summers with Coo and The Chef of South Polar. The first one was an animated film and I cried towards the end. I loved it so much. I was apprehensive since I didn't want to watch an animated film since I thought I watched enough anime. But this one was good. I think if I can find a copy of it I would make my cousins and sister watch it. As for the The Chef of South Polar, I hated it since the food there made me hungry. It was funny and the vice-principal in Gokusen Live Action was Moto-san in the movie. He is really funny looking.

I recommend that you try to catch the remaining showing of those two films. I will try to catch other showings next time. But I only have the weekends free.
